Tudors' FA Cup dynasty at threat from neighbours Dunstable

The FA Cup Second Round Qualifying starts this weekend

Hemel Hempstead Town should be wary of local rivals Dunstable Town after their impressive start to the season, according to boss Dean Brennan.

Both sides won promotion last season: Hertfordshire side Hemel, known as the Tudors, made the leap to the Conference South from the Southern Premier, where Dunstable have got off to a flier.

Brennan says he has been impressed by the side from the division below.

"We've done our research and they are a good side with some excellent players and are a really ambitious club," said Brennan.

"They have some players who have played in the Football League and the Conference and we are really looking forward to the game."

This match, already a significant occasion for both clubs, has a heightened tension added by the fact Brennan played for and was the assistant manager of the visitors from Bedfordshire.

"I was the assistant manager of Dunstable three years ago and we have signed a couple of players from them which will add more spice to the game," he said.

However, Brennan is determined to enjoy the FA Cup experience and says he will not change anything for the visit of his former club.

"This game is about the magic of the Cup and everyone here is excited. It is a great occasion for both clubs," Brennan concluded.
