Conservative MPs swapped the House of Commons for the football pitch on Sunday morning in their annual fixture against the Press Lobby.
Playing in Birmingham on the first day of the Conservative party conference, MPs turned out to show their support for The FA’s new charity partner Breast Cancer Care, but were outclassed by the press, losing 7-2.
Last week the Lobby Press defeated the Labour MPs 3-1.
Running the line was Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt. Before the match he showed his support for the partnership saying: “Every year 55,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer, including 350 men.
"As part of their new Pass It On campaign, The FA and Breast Cancer Care will work together to ensure that everyone in the UK knows how to spot the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and has the confidence to go to their GP if they notice anything unusual.
"Early detection can save lives and it’s great news that Breast Cancer Care and The FA are teaming up to reach thousands more people across the nation with their vital breast awareness message.”
