Lee Chappell scored the match-winner against Hayes and Yeading United to help St Albans City book their place in Monday's FA Cup Third Round Qualifying draw.
The game was a close affair and needed a second-half strike from the 18-year-old on 56 minutes to settle the tie 1-0 for the Hertfordshire club.
David Keenleyside played the perfect ball into the path of Chappell, who raced through on goal and lobbed the ball over Hayes and Yeading keeper Calum Kitscha.
The home side could have drawn level late in the game when Joe Welch saw his shot deflect off Pat Cox and the ball flew just wide of the post.
But St Albans City held on to record a victory and will now look forward to the draw which is made at Wembley on Monday lunchtime.
