The Reds secured their place in the semi-final on Wednesday night after a Philippe Coutinho goal proved enough to see off a determined and rigid Rovers side at Ewood Park.

And they will now take on Aston Villa at Wembley in ten days for a place in this season’s FA Cup Final, a boost for Rodgers’ side after two successive Premier League defeats prior to their sixth round replay.
"We knew this was vital for us and the supporters," revealed Rodgers.
"This was for them, to give them the hope we were still progressing, but you have to win matches and trophies to do that.
"As a team, we wanted it. It wasn't about saving our season. We want to compete at the top end of the league and win trophies.
"We just needed to focus on our performance because the two performances against Manchester United and Arsenal were not to the standards we had set.
"We were heavily criticised and disappointed in both games we played, because of the standards we had set."
Liverpool made the short trip to Lancashire knowing that they were expected to beat Gary Bowyer’s Championship side.
And after a reported training ground meeting with his squad following last weekend’s 4-1 defeat at Arsenal, Rodgers was quick to play down the significance of any debrief with his players.
"There was a lot made of that, but I am a coach who speaks openly with players," he explained.
"Part of the coaching philosophy for me is about reviewing and reflecting performance.
"Because we lost a couple of games, a lot was made of that meeting but that review is very important for how we want to work - unless you review and analyse how can you be better?
"I think you see the outcome. We made points on how we improve our performance level, we agreed on it and committed to it and you saw the shape of the team: we reintroduced 4-3-3 and got into the final third very well."
Rodgers also praised captain Jordan Henderson, who had a hand in the winner, after his preparation for the game was interrupted by the birth of his second child.
"Jordan had to go back from the hotel because his wife had their second child during the night," he revealed.
"He hadn't slept much and has travelled all the way back again, and has put in a performance like he did, a real captain's performance."
