In stark contrast to last weekend’s goalless stalemate in their initial extra preliminary round tie, Consett gave the home fans plenty to cheer.
The visitors’ cause however was not helped by a red card to Adam Clough for handball in the box on just six minutes, with Michael Mackay converting the subsequent penalty.
A further four goals would follow before half-time with Danny Craggs scoring twice, Mackay once again finding the net and Michael Sweet also getting in on the act.
Consett then added three more goals after the break through a Luke Sullivan double in between Mackay’s hat-trick goal as they ensured an FA preliminary round tie at home to Scarborough Athletic.

Elsewhere Bedfont & Feltham recovered from two goals behind and a Matt Ward red card to edge London Tigers 8-7 on penalties to book a tie with AFC Hayes.
Jacobe Lambe scored a double in normal time – either side of Ward’s red – and the Yellows survived for a 2-2 draw before facing penalties, in which goalkeeper Triston Thomas came to the fore.
Farnham Town meanwhile were also celebrating after winning their penalty shootout against Thame United 4-3. Goalless after normal time, the drama all came right at the end of the match as a late equaliser for Farnham forced penalties and Dan West’s miss proved crucial, as his effort cannoned off the bar to hand the hosts the win.
Elsewhere, Barton Town Old Boys came alive in extra time to edge Squires Gate 4-2 and set up a clash with Droylsden. With the sides locked at 2-2 when the full-time whistle blew, Gareth Owen scored in the 95th minute before Danny Chambers made sure of victory for the Swans.
In two other clashes that boiled down to extra time Chessington & Hook United snatched a 2-1 win at Crowborough Athletic, while Tobi Adesina struck twice in Barking’s 3-1 triumph over Felixstowe & Walton.
Former England Under-21s and Middlesbrough striker Andy Campbell's West Auckland Town were also in a high-scoring mood, seeing off Bedlington Terriers 4-0. Anthony Hume opened the scoring on 23 minutes with a close-range tap in before an own goal by the visitors made it two after the break.
Christopher Dickinson then stepped off the bench to score with his first touch with 15 minutes remaining and fellow sub Shaun Hudson rounded off proceedings late on – a home tie against Washington their reward in the next round.
The 4-0 scoreline was also a common theme elsewhere with Congleton Town beating Nostell MW, Rocester overcoming Boldmere St Michaels and Holbeach getting the better of Ely City.
Other high scoring affairs included Bottesford Town’s 5-1 win over Rainworth MW, Deal Town’s 7-1 home win over Worthing United, while Marske United, Cowes Sports, Continental Star and Wincanton Town beat Seaham Red Star, Melksham Town, Boleham Swifts and Whitchurch United respectively with a 3-1 scoreline.
There were also narrow 3-2 wins for Whitley Bay against Sunderland Ryhope, AFC Blackpool versus Winsford United and AFC Kempston Rovers over Oxhey Jets.
Kirkley & Pakefield beat Hertford Town 2-1, a similar scoreline also enjoyed by Wembley FC over Hillingdon Borough, and Rochester United over Banstead Athletic.
And finally Runcorn Linnets beat Glasshoughton Welfare 6-1, Long Buckby downed Harefield United at home 1-0 while Binfield and Hamworthy United both recorded away wins by the same scoreline against Westfield and Hallen respectively.
