The Hornets successfully navigated five rounds before losing to Swansea City in the first-ever FA Cup tie to be played at the Liberty Stadium in 2007.
But, having been held to a 1-1 draw at Deal on Saturday, they struggled to find a way past goalkeeper Chris Whymark in a contest which saw both sides finish with ten men.

Deal took the lead on seven minutes through Charlie Walsh, before Ryan Philpott doubled the advantage 20 minutes later.
Horsham wasted a golden opportunity to get back in the game shortly after the interval when Joe Shelley missed a penalty, but they did eventually hit back on 64 minutes as Kieron Pamment powered in a volley.
But they lost some momentum when Kevin Kheehan was sent off in the closing stages, before Andy Miller followed him three minutes later, after picking up a second yellow card for kicking the ball away.
Elsewhere, Cockfosters romped through to the first round qualifying with a 5-1 demolition of nine-man Tower Hamlets.
Following a thrilling 3-3 draw at the weekend, the goals kept flowing with two for Shane Reid, plus one apiece from Ben Andreos, Gary Simmonds and Jacob Kalonda.
Simmonds tucked away the opener on three minutes and, though the home side drew level on 33 minutes though Aliu Ibrahim, Reid struck from just inside the penalty area to hit Cockfosters back in front.
Kalonda turned in Andreos’s cross shortly after the interval, before O’Neal Roe was sent off as the day went from bad to worse for Tower Hamlets.
Reid and Andreos hit two goals in a three-minute spell, before the home side’s skipper Omar Roe saw red late on.
Brighouse Town ensured they advanced with a 2-1 victory at Atherton Collieries.
Ernest Boafo edged Brighouse ahead on 22 minutes, latching onto Martin Allison’s pass before tucking away.
Ben Hardcastle, who forced this tie to a replay when he cancelled out Leon Henry’s opener on Saturday, levelled three minutes before half time.
But Paul Quinn’s side nabbed the winner shortly after the restart when Will Tolley picked out Ryan Hall, who went round goalkeeper Danny Taberner and finished into the empty net.
