Jamie Vardy was back on the scoresheet as Leicester City beat Chelsea by 2-1 at the King Power Stadium to return to the top of the Premier League.
Having set a new Premier League record for scoring in 11 consecutive matches, Vardy’s run came to a halt last time out away at Swansea City.
But the striker – who has four England caps to his name so far – grabbed his 15th Premier League goal of the season in the 34th minute, finishing off a cross from Riyad Mahrez.
Three minutes after half time and defending champions Chelsea – who had Gary Cahill on the bench – found themselves two goals down as Mahrez superbly curled home.
And although Loic Remy climbed off the bench to half the deficit by nodding home a Pedro cross, they were unable to prevent Leicester grabbing the three points they needed to return to the summit.
