Joel Asoro helped himself to a hat-trick as Sunderland stormed into the FA Youth Cup fourth round with a 5-1 win at Mansfield Town.
Luke Molyneux drove in the opener on 30 minutes, but Mansfield hit back immediately with Devante Reittie firing in from distance.
But the Black Cats led at the break, Asoro with a cool finish to get his evening off and running.
The FA Youth Cup
Third round

Mansfield Town 1-5 Sunderland
Friday 18 December 2015
Three minutes after the restart the Swedish striker scored again and the outcome was put beyond doubt when captain Dan Pybus curled in the fourth with 12 minutes left to play.
And the evening’s work was concluded in the final moments of the game when Asoro completed his hat-trick.
Derby joined Sunderland in the fourth following a 3-1 extra-time defeat of West Ham.
The Rams took the lead at the iPro Stadium when James Carvell’s free-kick bounced down off the crossbar and over the line via a deflection from goalkeeper Sam Howes after 12 minutes.
The Hammers levelled after half an hour though through Marcus Browne and so it remained at the end of 90 minutes.
The deadlock was finally broken 11 minutes into extra time, when Timi Elsnik’s header deflected in off Declan Rice for the game’s second own goal.
And progress was assured with two minutes left on the clock, Carvell with another free-kick that this time needed no help to hit the net.
