Nathan Turner scored his first Bradford Park Avenue goal as they beat National League side Lincoln City 2-1 to reach the second round of The FA Trophy.
The Avenue went ahead on the half-hour mark when Turner collected Jason St Juste’s pass and tucked the ball under Imps goalkeeper Paul Farman.
Craig King latched onto a poor backpass to put the National League North outfit two up 15 minutes from time, but they were soon down to 10 men.
Goalkeeper Jon Stewart saw red, forcing defender Tom Burgin to spend the final 10 minutes between the posts.
He was beaten by Jack Muldoon in stoppage time but there was no time for an equaliser, as the hosts earned a second round clash with Nantwich Town.
The only other tie of the night saw Sutton United clinch a place in the first round with a 2-0 win at Concord Rangers.
Dan Fitchett put the U’s ahead before the break and Ross Stearn made sure of the result to earn the National League South side a home tie with Lowestoft Town on 5 January.
