Chris Hughton believes Brighton’s FA Cup Third Round win over Brentford will boost his side’s confidence.
The Seagulls’ new boss oversaw a second victory inside a week, following the 2-0 league defeat of Fulham on Monday.
Lewis Dunk broke the deadlock on 88 minutes and Chris O’Grady sealed a Fourth Round berth in added time.

Hughton said: “It’s confidence boosting to get back-to-back wins.
“We know [Brentford’s] recent form hasn’t been great but they’ve had a super season.
“We certainly took it seriously, on the back of a league win at Fulham, and we were keen to build on that. But we managed to ride our luck a little bit. We knew it would be tough, but we wanted to make progress.
"I’ve learned that we have that bit of resilience. We have a very young midfield that had to dig and be resilient.
“Winning games is the obvious one, but trying to get that balance between the philosophy of play that the club has seen in the last four or five years.”
Meanwhile, Brentford boss Mark Warburton was left rueing missed chances.
He said: “It was frustrating. I think we deserved to get something out of this game but we didn’t.
"We could have wrapped it up in the first half. I thought we were excellent and could have wrapped it up. But we were slack at the back. We took liberties and lost the match.
“Until Brighton scored, with all due respect, I thought it was one way traffic.
“The stats were even more in our favour, but stats don’t win football matches.
“I thought the way we played was very positive, but we must be more clinical. We had a very strong team today and I think we showed it in the first half. But we lost a football match 2-0."
