Wrexham came from behind with a spectacular equaliser from Louis Moult to earn a replay against Stockport and avoid a second Cup exit in successive weekends.
Having gone out of the FA Cup to two late goals after leading at Premier League Stoke last week, Kevin Wilkin's men were looking for a decent run in the FA Trophy but it looked to be going all the way of the home side in the first half as Stockport raced into a 2-0 lead.
Jack Ryan opened the scoring in the sixth minute when he ran on to a through ball from Stephen O'Halloran to beat the offside trap and shoot low past Dan Bachmann in the Wrexham goal.

Stockport doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Chris Sharp ran in from the left and put the ball past Bachmann from a tight angle.
But Wrexham came back strongly after the break.
Moult went on as substitute early on the hour mark to give the Welsh side more firepower, and they reduced the arrears in the 68th minute when Neil Ashton crossed for Connor Jennings to steer the ball home.
Three minutes later they were level.
Andy Bishop tried his luck with a header, only to see keeper Danny Hurst get his hands to it.
But Moult was on hand to hit the ball back past the startled keeper with an overhead kick to equalise.
Wrexham could then have snatched victory against their Conference North opponents, but Bishop, Moult and Manny Smith all missed late chances to score.
The teams will now play again at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday 13 January.
