Scunthorpe United boss Mark Robins is hoping for a trip to Derby in The FA Cup
Scunthorpe United go into their fifth FA Cup game this season on Tuesday evening with a trip to Championship leaders Derby County on offer.

The Iron travel to Chesterfield for their Third Round replay, having already seen off Forest Green Rovers, Worcester City following a replay and the 2-2 draw in their first tie with the Spireites.

And boss Mark Robins admits that whilst the Glanford Park squad are feeling the effects of a busy few weeks, they are equally keen on progressing to the Fourth Round.

"It’s something we would all like to have, to win this game and pit our wits against a side near the top of the Championship," said the former Huddersfield Town and Barnsley boss.

"We know it’s a tough ask with injuries, ineligible players and suspensions and it’s been a tough trip for us in The FA Cup, having played four games already.

"We go away from home, where we have been a bit stronger, and we both got good wins at the weekend but they will just edge it as favourites. We are not looking any further than the kick-off, it will be a tough game for both teams."

Robins felt his side should really have secured their spot in the Fourth Round following the first tie, when Scunthorpe took a two-goal lead.

But Paul Cook’s side bounced back to level things up and earn themselves another shot at the Iron, meaning the slate is wiped clean again as far as Robins is concerned.

"It’s all square," Robins told the Iron Player.

"I was disappointed to lose the two-goal lead last week but the players have given me everything that they can.

"It’s another opportunity for us to get another tie in the competition and Derby await the eventual winners of it.

"The most valuable thing [we can take from last week] is we were very good in the first half, not so much in the second, which cost us.

"They are a really good side and they threw caution to the wind in a cup competition, which can happen."
