Fylde took the lead on 17 minutes, Josh Wilson hitting a perfect through-ball to Liam Tomsett, and he beat the offside trap to turn the keeper and slot home.

Despite their dominance, the Coasters had to wait until the 69th minute to double their lead. Danny Rowe collected the ball from Wilson on the edge of the area, and he drove the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

The floodgates began to open, and eight minutes later Wilson’s efforts were rewarded as he added his name to the scoresheet – connecting with Danny Lloyd’s cross to divert it into the net.

Rowe rounded off the scoring in additional time, turning his man and producing a thunderous strike from 35 yards.

FC United of Manchester await Fylde in the next round on Saturday at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium.
