Hemel Hempstead manager Dean Brennan believes their FA Trophy clash with Torquay United is a huge opportunity for his players to put themselves back in the shop window.
The Conference South side have a remarkable 14 players who have previously experience of the professional game.
Some of them enjoyed times on professional contracts while others were part of youth set-ups.
Hemel Hempstead v Torquay
The FA Trophy
Third Round Proper
3pm, Saturday 24 January
Vauxhall Road
Winning clubs will receive £7,000
The Hemel squad includes goalkeeper Laurie Walker, 25, who has had spells at MK Dons, Millwall, Cambridge and Morecombe, while midfielder Jordan Parkes was at Watford, Brentford, Barnet and Stevenage.
Brennan hopes that his young squad, which has an average age of 22, can live up to the occasion and show their worth.
He said: "We have a very young squad and a lot of the young players have been involved in professional football before.
"And they want to get back to that level, so it's a massive opportunity for them to put themselves in the shop window.
"Anything can happen in the cup and we will have to respect Torquay, but it's a great opportunity for our players."
Opponents, Torquay, sit mid-table in the Conference Premier and Brennan insists he will focus on his side's strengths and will look to be on the front foot.
He admitted: "We are going to have to be at our best to get a result as, in my opinion, there is a big divide between the two divisions.
"We have got bundles of ability, we have an attacking style and we will look to play to our strengths against them."
