Gareth Southgate has backed his England Under-21s side to progress from their UEFA European Championship group - despite losing their opening game.
The Young Lions went down 1-0 to Portugal after Joao Mario scored the game's only goal 12 minutes into the second-half.
However, head coach Southgate believes there are positives to be taken with England still to face Sweden and Italy in their next two Group B games.

"I think we always felt like it was going to be tight. That was proved by the way the game followed with chances in both areas," said Southgate.
"The goal we gave away is an incredible bit of bad fortune, but there are one or two things we can do better.
"I thought once we got the ball forward we were good. We looked a threat and we defended well at times."
He continued: "It was one of those games where you knew one goal would decide it. I would have to see the goal again but the way it came of Luke Garbutt's heel to them is amazing.
"But we have to move on. If you don't react well after a game like that then you aren't prepared for the next match.
"We still have a brilliant chance of getting through the group. If we play as we did tonight for the next two matches then we can do it."
England's preparations for the clash with Portugal were disrupted by injuries to Saido Berahino - who has been ruled out of the tournament - and John Stones - who misses the first two games.
However, while he admits luck has not been on their side in the last two days, Southgate says the players' absence must spur the rest of the team on.
"You have to adapt and adjust," he said. "The injuries and the goal have been a bad bit of fortune in the last 48 hours.
"The way we respond now is important. We have said already about the game and now it is time to move on quickly.
"The next two matches we can win. We knew Portugal from when we played them in November and I thought the game would go a similar way.
"They are as good a side as you'll get in this competition. We have to stay positive about things."
