The Manchester United forward netted a stunning late volley to fire the Three Lions to a 1-0 victory against Sweden on Sunday evening.
After controlling a cleared corner-kick, Lingard fired home through a crowded box to secure a first win at the Euro Finals for Gareth Southgate’s team.

And the 22-year-old admits he wasn’t even planning on covering the edge of the area before Luke Garbutt’s late corner forced the Swedes into a desperate clearance.
"At first, I was going to go in the box, but Nathan Redmond said to stay there so I’ll give the assist to him," revealed Lingard.
"I was free on the edge of the area and as soon as I hit it, I knew it was in and the celebrations started.
"You always know whether to shoot or pass and I knew straight away to hit it.
"We deserved that. Sweden were looking for that draw, they were well organised and pressed the ball well for near enough the whole 90 minutes.
"But we needed the win and luckily we got that corner and the goal."
After losing their opening game to Portugal last week, England knew they needed a win on Sunday to give themselves any real chance of progressing to the semi-final.
And the former Derby County and Brighton & Hove Albion loanee, who came on as a second-half substitute for Alex Pritchard, says the squad’s spirit helped them drive on for the winner.
"You’ve seen the team spirit and togetherness and you can see today from the bench that it’s a tight-knit squad," he added.
"Everyone from the bench made an impact and everyone who started gave us encouragement when they came on the pitch.
"Nobody outside of the camp really knows what we’re about, but it showed today."
England will now face Italy in their final Group B game on Wednesday evening, knowing that another victory will be enough to take them into the last four.
And with the squad having already studied all of their group opponents during their preparations for the tournament, Lingard is expecting an even harder match.
"It will be a tougher game than we faced today but we’ve got it in us to win the game," he claimed.
"We’ve come from a 0-0 today to win with a last-ditch goal, but we can win again against Italy."
