Phil Jones has committed his long-term future to Manchester United, the Premier League club has confirmed.
The England defender, who joined from Blackburn in 2011, has signed a five-year deal and will now stay at Old Trafford until at least June 2019.
The club confirmed the deal in a short statement via Twitter.
Upon the announcement, Jones said that with his future sorted out, he was looking forward to getting back to business next season.
"I am delighted to have signed a new deal,” he told the club’s official website.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and am looking forward to continuing my development as a player.
He continued: "This a great club to be part of and I cannot wait to start the new campaign.
"I would like to thank the manager, coaching staff and fans for their continued support."

Jones’ manager Louis van Gaal – who played the 23-year-old on 26 occasions during his debut season in England – also welcomed the news.
"We are delighted that Phil has signed a new contract," he said.
"He is a talented footballer with great versatility and can play in a number of positions.
"Phil is a relatively young defender who is developing all the time.
“He missed some of last season due to injury but I was impressed by his professionalism and attitude during those periods."
Jones has 17 senior England caps and has also represented the Three Lions at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
Manchester United face pre-season friendlies against Club America (18 July), San Jose Earthquakes (22 July), Barcelona (25 July) and Paris Saint-Germain (30 July) before heading back to England to kick-off their Premier League season.
They begin with a home game against Tottenham Hotspur on 8 August, followed by a trip to Aston Villa the following weekend.
They will also face two UEFA Champions League play-off fixtures on 18/19 and 25/26 August. The draw for those ties is made on 7 August.
