Harry Kane says he will use the disappointment of Sunday’s League Cup final defeat by Chelsea to help drive him on to future success.
The England Under-21s international led the line for Tottenham Hotspur as they went down 2-0 to London rivals Chelsea, but the youngster says he wants to turn the unhappy experience into a positive.
“It’s the worst feeling in the world, losing a final on the big stage,” he told Spurs TV.
“When you see Chelsea lift the trophy at the end it stokes the fire in your belly, it makes you want to be at Wembley again and lift the trophy next time.
“Hopefully we’ll have that to come next season.”
After failing to convert the best of the chances during a close first half, Spurs fell behind to a John Terry strike just before the interval.
Their misery was compounded when Diego Costa’s 56th-minute shot deflected off Kyle Walker and past the helpless Hugo Lloris to double the Blues’ lead.
Despite the disappointment, Kane was quick to praise the effort and determination shown by his team-mates throughout the close encounter.
“That’s football and all part of the learning curve - we’ll come back stronger for it”

“The lads gave everything, we left it all out on the pitch,” added Kane, who has 24 goals to his name this term.
“I thought we played well but sometimes you don’t get the luck you need and I think Chelsea had that with a couple of deflected goals.

Next up for Spurs and Kane is a home Premier League match against Swansea City on Wednesday evening.
The in-form forward is also being tipped to earn his first England call-up when the Three Lions take on Lithuania on Friday 27 March at Wembley.
