This year's FA Sunday Cup Final will feature a side which had never even entered the competition until this year.

Debutants in the tournament, OJM FC, have enjoyed a remarkable run this season which has taken them all the way to the final.

Sitting third in the Premier Division of the Warley District Sunday League, OJM have lost just one league match this season.

And a Sunday Cup final is now next on the agenda in April, following their 4-2 victory over New Salamis FC after extra-time, thanks to two goals from Sean Williams, one from Rico Taylor Nelsen and another from Masimba Matapo.

Joint manager Adam Younis, speaking after the dramatic victory, praised his collection of players, many of whom nearly made it in the professional ranks.

"We've got a great bunch of lads, and lot of players that have been released by pro clubs," said Younis.

"A few have played for Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and even England."

Darius Darkin, midfielder for the Midlanders, was playing for the Villa youth team five years ago, making an appearance from the bench in their FA Youth Cup Final against Chelsea and had also played for England U16s.

And goalkeeper Danny Roberts and defender Sean Taylor both had spells with Port Vale before making the move to OJM.

"This is our first year in the competition and to do as well as we have has definitely surprised me, but I knew it wasn't beyond us," added Younis.

OJM, named in memory of a late friend of the team, will now play Merseysiders Campfield in April's final but Younis says it feels like a dream.

He explained: "It's all a bit surreal, I keep pinching myself."
