Rob Green and Danny Rose have been called into the England squad for the matches against Lithuania and Italy, while Jack Butland has been promoted from the Under-21s.
Roy Hodgson has taken the decision to call on both Queens Park Rangers’ Green and Stoke City’s Butland following the injury sustained by Fraser Forster in Southampton’s 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.
Elsewhere, the withdrawal of Manchester United’s Luke Shaw through injury has resulted in left-back Rose being added to the squad.
England entertain Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on Friday in a European Championship Qualifier before a trip to Turin to face Italy the following Tuesday.
