Goals from Daniel Wright, Danny Collinge and Layton Ndukwu got the Young Lions off to a winning start on Saturday in their Elite Round European Championship qualifiers.
Having met up last Sunday, John Peacock had five days to work with his squad ahead of their week of destiny, and that period was vital according to Fulham defender Edun.

“We were confident going into the game of getting the win – we had prepared very well for it over the week,” he told TheFA.com.
“We met up last Sunday to get that preparation right, working on how Norway would play, and we took that into the game and got off to a good start.”
Edun and his team-mates do not have long to revel in their opening success with only 48 hours to prepare for their second match against Slovenia – who also started the group with a 3-0 victory over Romania.
“We move on now and we’ll be looking at what Slovenia have to offer, they got off to a good start too.
“But with the team and attacking threat we have, we are always confident. So if we put the hard work in, we are hopeful we can deal with any problems they cause us and do what we did against Norway,” said Edun.
The left-back only made his international debut in November, but after impressing enough at the Nike International and Algarve Tournament, he was selected as part of the 18-man squad for the Elites.
“Getting in the squad was a great feeling. When it comes to the England squad, you sometimes wonder if you are good enough,” the 16-year-old admitted.
“But the fact that I’m here shows that the manager believes I’m good enough to be around these players, so I want to prove that.
“The left-back position has a lot of competition. We have Jay DaSilva here, and Hayden Coulson has also played there, so there’s always someone there to take your place and do the job if you aren’t.”
Edun and close-friend Ndukwu impressed down the left on Saturday, and he hopes it is the start of a blossoming partnership.
“I like working with him in the channel, we do well together.
“He uses his pace and power a lot to get past the full-back, and I get round him often to support him and he also helps me out a lot defensively.”
And although he says it will take a team effort to qualify for the tournament in Bulgaria, after seeing his mate bag his fourth goal in qualifying, Edun admitted he is keen to add his name to scoresheet too.
“Yeah definitely. I don’t get many goals – I’ve only got one this season and it was nothing special. I’d like to get more.
“But sometimes in defence, we just do the job and give our attackers the ball to do the work going forward,” he quipped.
“But me and the other full backs like to get forward as well, and we all like to get involved. Danny Collinge got himself a goal, so it really is a team effort.”
