And Connolly says the desire to prove themselves against the top players within their age group from across Europe is a great motivator.
“We know how strong the Switzerland squad is and they will be looking to come over here and get a win over us,” he told TheFA.com.
“The gaffer has already spoke to us and said he wants us to continue the winning mentality we have developed within the squad.
“We are all hungry is this age group. We demand high performances from each other and we want to look strong. Most of all we want two wins.”
With three goals in his past four internationals, the 17-year-old is hoping to add to his tally – but says the result will always be the first priority.
“I’m happy to contribute to the goals, but just winning is the most important thing," he added.
“I’ve bagged a few for England this season, and it would be nice to get on the scoresheet again.”
Connolly has been a key part of Dewsnip’s side this season, appearing in all five matches.
As an established member he has been quick to welcome the new additions who are all hoping to make their England debuts.
“It’s great to see all the lads. We all keep in touch on an almost daily basis in this group, but it’s good to see them all face-to-face again.
“We’ve got a few new lads in the squad, but you can tell already they are settling in. They seem confident and did well in training this morning.
“They are just like us, they just want to get going and playing games.”
The U18s squad have joined their U17s counterparts, who are in the middle of their Elite Round European Championship qualifiers, at the National Football Centre this week.
With three Evertonians included in each squad, Connolly says it is great to see so many of his friends involved in the international fold.
“There’s a nice bond between the groups and it is good to have a chat with the other lads when we see them around,” he said.
“There’s a few of the Everton lads involved with the U17s and our in our squad, we are all close mates and have that bond.
“It’s great for the club to have so many involved with England and hopefully we can all return with a nice couple of wins.”
Connolly also confirmed that he and his team-mates will be travelling to Chesterfield on Monday evening to cheer on England U17s against Slovenia.
“I can’t wait to watch them – they got off to a flyer in the first game,” he added.
“Hopefully with our support from the stands it can inspire them to get another win and move a step closer to the Euros.”
