The FA Women's Premier League has ruled that Coventry City Ladies FC fielded an ineligible player.
The Club played both Emma Hollingsworth and Carly Davies - both registered as FA Women's Super League players - in their FA WPL fixtures on 12 April against Huddersfield Town and 16 April against Nottingham Forest.
Coventry won these matches 6-4 and 2-0 respectively.
FA WPL rules state only one player registered with an FA Women's Super League Club may represent an FA WPL Club on the field at any one time.
In accordance with FA WPL Rule 8C, Coventry shall have the points gained from each of those matches deducted from its total with immediate effect.
No further sanction was imposed.
The Club would ordinarily have until 19 May to lodge an appeal with The Football Association.
However, The FA Women’s Premier League Management Committee have applied to the Chairman of the Appeal Board to abridge the time limit of 14 days to submit an appeal, under Disciplinary Procedures Appeal Proceedings Regulation 2.7, due to the play-off match on 24 May.
