FA Board member and Chair of The FA's Inclusion Advisory Board, Heather Rabbatts, has spoken about the departures of Chris Powell and Chris Ramsey from their clubs this week.
Both Powell and Ramsey left their managerial roles at Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers respectively on Wednesday.
And Rabbatts said: "Only last month I sat on a panel with both Chris Powell and Chris Ramsey and their dismissals only go to highlight the need for us strengthen the fragile levels of representation across the game.
"It underlines the importance of the work of The FA and Leagues to support coaching and development together with opening up the recruitment pathways into Academies and Clubs.
"We see the Voluntary Recruitment Code that The FA has introduced as a one such positive step to shift the culture of closed networks of recruitment. It is a guarantee to shortlist and interview BAME candidates who meet the qualification criteria."
