Mauricio Pochettino has praised Dele Alli’s maturity, and tipped him to be included in England's Euro 2016 squad.
After an impressive start to the season, Alli was handed his first senior caps in the Euro 2016 Qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder came off the bench to feature in both games, and his manager has predicted a bright future for the 19-year-old - if he keeps progressing in the same fashion.
"If he follows in the same way that he's played in the last few months, then maybe he will have the opportunity to go [to France]," Pochettino said.
"It's not because he's young and 19 years old, football is about performance.”
Alli signed for Spurs from MK Dons in February, and was immediately loaned back to his hometown club for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.
When he headed to Spurs for the new season Pochettino put his faith in the teenager and has been richly rewarded.
As well as the two England appearances, Alli has already featured for Spurs in 10 of their 11 games so far this term.
And the Argentinian is delighted with how quickly the young schemer has adapted to life in the top flight.
Dele Alli spoke to FATV in the build up to his senior debut
"He is still young but very mature – on the pitch and off it – and he's a great boy and we're happy how he has adapted in the different levels, in a different league,” he added.
"The Premier League is very tough and he came from League One and he adapted himself in a very good way."
Alli is likely to play a major role against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool on Saturday as Tottenham are short in midfield, with injuries to Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb, while Eric Dier is suspended.
Mousa Dembele or Tom Carroll could partner Alli in the middle of the park, or another option would be to push centre-back Toby Alderweireld into the defensive midfield role.
"It's a problem when you have some players in this situation but we have a big squad, I trust in all players," Pochettino said.
"Sometimes you have to decide who is the best player to play in different games, but I'm happy with the squad.
"You want to have all players fit and available to decide who to pick, but this is football and we need to accept the situation."
England have a series of high profile friendlies to prepare for the Euro 2016 Finals.
They face Spain in Alicante on Friday 13 November and their next home game comes four days later at Wembley Stadium against the hosts, France.
The game against Les Bleus on Tuesday 17 November is also a Breast Cancer Care International, supporting The FA's official charity partner. To get your tickets for the game, visit www.TheFA.com/tickets.
