The 19-year-old joined up with Keith Downing’s England Under-20s squad this week ahead of their upcoming double-header against Czech Republic, the first of which will be at St. George’s Park before they lock horns again at Shrewsbury Town on Monday 7 September.
And having joined Coventry City on loan from Middlesbrough earlier this summer, the Hartlepool-born midfielder is enjoying the battle on two fronts to win over his new bosses, Downing and Sky Blues manager Tony Mowbray.

"It's always good to be back with England,” he told TheFA.com.
"There are a few new faces but we've all settled in well and Keith has been great in training. I like the way he just lets us play, and I just want to show him what I can do."
On his move to Coventry, he continued: "I think this was the challenge I needed and that it was important to go out and get games. I'm not playing at the minute, but I'm biding my time and working hard to get in that team.
"Hopefully I can and go on to enjoy a good run of games and get my confidence up. With games, comes my sharpness and I really want to do well.
"I'm settling in well. I was staying in a hotel at first but now I've got my own place and I'm happy. The lads have all been really good with us as have the staff and I just want to break into the team consistently now."
Morris’ first opportunity to shine comes against the Czechs and despite representing his country at U16, U17, U18 and U19s level previously, it is a nation he has yet to come face-to-face with on the pitch.
"I've never faced Czech Republic before and I think they'll be a strong and physical outfit," he said.
"I'd like to think that we can be better than them tactically but we won't be going into the game with any false impressions.
"We know they won't be a pushover and will be a very difficult opponent – we’ve all got to be at our best but we believe in ourselves and are obviously aiming to get two positive results."
U21s boss Gareth Southgate has been a keen spectator during the squad’s training sessions at St. George’s Park.
And having seen his former Young Lions team-mate Joe Gomez graduate into the U21s setup this week, Morris says it has given the whole squad an extra incentive to do well.
"Seeing some of the boys included in the U21s gives you an added determination to do well," he added.
"We know that if we can perform then chances will be given to the lads in our age group."
