After slotting a penalty, the former Hereford man fired home a free-kick in the dying minutes to take the clash to extra time.
Kinsey headed the Grove back in front before Jones’ second free-kick of the evening completed his hat-trick and made it 5-5 – but there was more to come.
Kidsgrove goalkeeper Ben Chapman was sent off for a foul in the box and, with makeshift stopper Kinsey between the posts, Jones stepped up to seal an extraordinary cup tie.
Elsewhere, St Ives Town powered their way into the first round qualifying with a thumping 6-2 win at Norwich United.
The Planters did go ahead through Matt Daniels but that was soon cancelled out by Stuart Eason’s first goal of the night.
An own goal put the Saints ahead before Phil Draycott made it 3-1 and former Huntingdon hitman Eason grabbed his second before half-time.
Danny Watson made it five after the break and substitute Joe Peacock netted just a minute after emerging from the bench, while Adam Hipperson grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.
Hoddesdon Town needed sudden-death penalties to see off Romford after they had been pegged back late in normal time.
Joss Lillis put Hoddesdon ahead in the first half, only for Greg Akpele’s equaliser to arrive inside the final ten minutes.
After a goalless extra 30 minutes and a handful of missed efforts in the shootout, Kevin Metivier hit the winning penalty as the Lilywhites clinched it 5-4.
Guernsey are out of the competition after a slow start against Phoenix Sports proved costly at The Dripping Pan.
The Green Lions found themselves 2-0 down after just eight minutes on home soil after Yacine Gnahore and Ricky Freeman each found the net.
The hosts soon found their feet and by the end they were banging the door down, as Dominic Heaume scored to set up a tense finish, but the equaliser never arrived.
Croydon needed a late Jamelle Hudson winner to see off a resilient Tunbridge Wells and book their place in the first round qualifying.
Tristan Toney put Croydon ahead shortly after the break and Ian Parsons levelled 15 minutes from time, only for Hudson to have the final say.
And Bridport set up a clash with Larkhall Athletic in the next round after edging to a 1-0 extra-time win at Sherborne Town.
