Arsenal bounced back into form after losing their last two matches in FA WSL 1 as they overcame Liverpool in a one-sided contest at the Select Security Stadium.
Dominique Janssen’s superb curling free-kick was the one moment of real quality in a match where both side’s Champions League ambitions were also on the line.
The visitors dominated for long periods but wasted the first-half’s best opportunity five minutes before the break when Natalia miscued a weak penalty wide of goalkeeper Libby Stout’s right-hand post after Alex Scott was tripped in the area.

The Spaniard’s miss came at the end of a half which had seen the north London outfit have the majority of possession with injury-hit Liverpool content to soak up the pressure.
The impressive Scott wasted the first clear chance on 23 minutes but the England full-back made amends on 40 minutes when she turned sharply in the area only to be brought down by Satara Murray for a clear penalty.
The second half saw Arsenal recover from Natalia’s glaring miss with Janssen giving them the lead on 65 minutes before Jordan Nobbs doubled the away side’s advantage when she slotted in Scott’s pull back with 10 minutes left.
