The FA on Monday announced the restructure of its technical division, to further increase the support for elite England teams and its new FA education department.
A significant number of specialist roles will be created over time through the reorganisation of the department, although a number of existing roles will be affected due to the proposed changes.
Dan Ashworth, technical director, said: “As has been consistently outlined during the development of St. George’s Park, the football centre is designed to be a centre of excellence for all of England’s elite teams.
"To achieve this we need the core support services for teams based alongside our development team coaches who already all work out of the centre.
“As a result of further investment in our England teams the technical division will ultimately benefit from newly created roles in specialist positions across both our education and team functions.
"This will allow coaches and staff to commit full-time to their relevant age groups and our coach educators to focus solely on developing the curriculum and educating our future workforce – both critical to the strategy of The FA moving forward.
“To be clear, there are no changes to Roy Hodgson’s support staff at this time, including up until and throughout the European Championship finals in 2016.
“However, we have outlined a reorganisation of the technical division with all roles proposed to move to St. George’s Park by August 2016.
“Essentially this is about focusing investment into the development of more and better coaches plus the development of a world-class coaching and education system for football."
The FA will shortly commence a period of consultation with affected staff members.
