Phil Jagielka says he and John Stones are “really enjoying themselves” in the heart of Everton’s defence.
The England internationals have been the centre-half pairing for the Toffees’ last 15 outings in addition to partnering each other for the Three Lions’ 6-0 win over San Marino earlier this month.
Jagielka, 33, feels the defensive union he is forming the 21-year-old Stones is going from strength-to-strength.
"Being a centre-half partnership all depends on playing together a lot and having that understanding of your relationship," he told EvertonFC.com.

"John and I have been able to play together for a while now. We’re still learning a little bit about each other but that’s what it’s all about, getting those minutes together and getting the training sessions to progress the partnership.
"Once you get that, you sort of go on autopilot and that’s a really good place to be.
"We’re getting there and that has come from playing through some tough games and also some of the games where we really enjoyed ourselves."
Former Sheffield United ace and Everton captain Jagielka is expected to reach a landmark figure of appearances for the Blues on Saturday at Swansea City.

Should he be selected in Roberto Martinez’s side, the defender will be lining up for his 300th game for the Merseyside outfit.
"It’d feel very good. I get told about these statistics and obviously it’s great - but I’d prefer to count them up when I’m finished and see where I am then,” said the modest Jagielka.
"It’s not something I look too much into at the moment, but playing that many games for Everton is something I’m proud of and to be captain during part of that is a fantastic highlight."
