Jack Ward scored within a minute of coming off the bench but could not prevent FC United of Manchester from being knocked out of The FA Youth Cup first round qualifying at the hands of Altrincham.
Ward drilled home in the 75th minute to level the scores at 2-2 – following fine approach play by Cameron Horner – only for United to concede an own goal almost immediately after.

It completed a remarkable match, with Dominic Newton and Jude Oyibo having initially turned Alty’s fortunes around in response to Jack Tinning’s first-half penalty.
After a goalless first half, Kidderminster Harriers turned on the style in a 4-2 win at Tipton Town.
George Taylor and then Cal Parker pegged back Tipton strikes almost immediately, before Parker grabbed his second of the night and an injury-time own goal sealed the turnaround.
Elsewhere, Tom Kenny scored the goal that earned AFC Telford United a 2-1 win – but if not for Lewis Mackenzie, Walsall Wood could still be in the competition.
Mackenzie’s superb goal-line clearance thwarted the Wood moments before full-time, after Kenny had earlier put Telford ahead in the second half.
Basford United are also through to the next round after they left it late to break the deadlock in a 2-0 victory at Dunkirk.
Kirmani Smith applied a cool finish with 67 minutes gone before Jack Wood capitalised on a defensive mix-up to seal his side’s spot in the next round.
And the floodgates also opened for AFC Fylde late in the second half against Nelson, as Dalton Hutchison, James Howell and Zak Adekoya completed a 3-0 triumph.
Aldershot Town fought off late pressure from Maidenhead United as a header from Luke Williams ultimately proved the difference in a 2-1 victory.
Harris Rodgers was the hero for Maidstone United after he netted either side of half time to help see off the challenge of Welling United 2-0.
Sam Ilesanmi was also at the double for Tranmere Rovers in a 4-0 victory at Barnton while Westfield found Sutton United in sensational form, with Aidan Brown and Dylan Burke-Hamilton both netting hat-tricks in an 11-goal thumping.
