Harry Kane is hoping his first strike of the season for Tottenham Hotspur can lead to a hot streak in front of goal.
The England international striker pounced in the second half of Spurs' 4-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday to end a goalless drought of over 12 hours for the club.
“There’s been a lot of talk that I hadn’t scored yet, but I’m a confident young man and I have faith in my ability,” Kane told BT Sport after the game.
The forward, who hit the net for the Three Lions in their recent victories over San Marino and Switzerland, side-footed in the rebound after Christian Eriksen's free-kick had come back off the woodwork.

“It bounced just in front of me so I just tried to get contact on it and it crept in the top corner," said Kane.
"When you are a striker you need a bit of luck. I was really delighted to get on the scoresheet, but the most important thing is getting a very good victory against a team who were top of the table.”
Despite maintaining throughout his dry spell that his lack of goals was not affecting his mindset, Kane did admit to being a "bit moody" prior to striking against City.
But having notched his first of the campaign, the hitman is hoping that it will be the start of many.
“Any striker who is not scoring gets a bit moody, but I’ve stayed professional and try to do my best for the team," he added.
"There’s a bigger picture than me not scoring at this club, but hopefully I can build on this now.”
