Former Jamaica international Deon Burton got his name on the score sheet as Worcester City beat Holbeach United 2-0 to progress into the Emirates FA Cup third round qualifying.
The ex-Derby County and Portsmouth striker, who joined the National League North side earlier this month from Brackley Town, smashed in a volley to double his side’s lead in the second half.
Daniel Nti’s 25-yard drive had earlier put the home team ahead in the tie against ninth-tier Holbeach.

And while goalkeeper Ricky Drury came to Holbeach’s rescue in Saturday’s first meeting with a stoppage-time bicycle-kick equaliser, there would be no repeat this time around as Worcester City booked an away tie with Solihull Moors in the next round.
Elsewhere there was a cup upset at Rushall Olympic as they beat National League North side Corby Town 2-1. The Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit held the advantage at the break following Jack Duggan’s sixth-minute goal but Corby hit back through former Northampton Town man Christopher Carruthers.
Despite having the momentum, the visitors were dealt a blow when Duggan again popped up to score what turned out to be the winner on 69 minutes.
The result sets up a clash with Stourbridge FC, a repeat of the fourth round qualifying four years ago, when the latter won 5-0.
Truro City will at least equal their best FA Cup run after they saw off Taunton Town 3-1. Though equalising in the first-half through Jordan Rogers, Taunton ran out of steam after the break as goals from Craig Duff and Aaron Pugh confirmed victory following Less Afful’s opener.
Meanwhile Carl Peers’ goal in the last kick of extra time sparked wild celebrations and earned Marine a battling 3-2 win over Washington.
There are some interesting ties in the next round between step five and step two clubs after there were wins for Wealdstone and Maidenhead United over Biggleswade Town and Winchester City respectively.
Dave Tarpey and Jake Reid both scored twice for Conference South Maidenhead who will now travel to Wessex League Premier Division side Blackfield & Langley in the next round. Wealdstone, of National League South, will travel to Brockenhurst after their successful 2-0 win.
There were also victories for North Ferriby United, Chelmsford City and Hastings United over Newton Aycliffe, Ebbsfleet United and Herne Bay respectively.
Havant & Waterlooville were also winners, beating Larkhall Athletic 4-2, while Worthing’s home replay with St Neots Town was postponed due to a puncture on the visitor’s team bus.
