It may be early days in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division but Middlesbrough continued their rampant start to the season with a 2-0 victory away to Bradford City on Sunday.
Goals either side of half-time from Bianca Owens and Ellie Dobson made it two wins from two without conceding a goal, as is the case for second in the table Fylde.
They defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-0 with a Danielle Young strike and Emma Hollingsworth’s own goal proving the difference, as third place Derby County also ran out winners with the same scoreline away to Nottingham Forest.

A Lauren Impey hat-trick helped Leicester City to their first win of the new campaign as they put five past Stoke City.
Rosie Axten and Kayleigh Hillier rounded off the goals for the home side, despite Stoke scoring three of their own.
And a late Saffron Jordon strike salvaged a point for Blackburn Rovers as they came from behind twice to draw 3-3 with Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield took the lead through Isabel Thomas and Kate Mallin before Jordon netted her first to bring Blackburn back into the game and Faye McCoy equalised.
Katie Nutter looked to have given the home side the win, before Jordon got her second with just minutes left on the clock.
Charlton Athletic continued their emphatic start to the Southern Division, following up last week’s 4-0 success over Swindon Town with a 6-0 hammering of C & K Basildon in Thamesmead.
Gemma Shepherd scored a hat-trick, including a sumptuous curler past the visiting goalkeeper, as Charlton went into the break two goals to the good after Katie Flack’s strike.
Kit Graham and Charley Clifford also found the net in the second half, compounding Basildon to a first defeat of the campaign.
Elsewhere, Sarah Kempson’s first-half double helped Portsmouth to a first win of the season, with Emma Sherwood also scoring in a 3-1 victory over West Ham.
Chloe Burr had pulled a goal back, but the visitors slipped to a second consecutive defeat this campaign.
Swindon Town are also winless from two, overcome 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur – who needed three goals in the last ten minutes to seal the win after George Walters levelled from Bianca Baptiste’s opener.
But Nikita Whinnett and two late strikes from Wendy Martin sealed an opening game win for Spurs.
Finally, Leanne Bell’s superb solo goal was enough for Crystal Palace to prevail 1-0 against QPR, while Lewes and Cardiff battled out an early-season 1-1 draw.
