England Under-21s will face a trip to Thun for their Euro Qualifier with Switzerland next month.
Gareth Southgate’s side will be in action for the first time in 2016 at the Stockhorn Arena, home of Swiss top-flight club Thun FC.
Switzerland v England
UEFA European U21 Championship
Group 9 Qualifier
6pm, Saturday 26 March 2016
Stockhorn Arena, Thun, Switzerland
As well as boasting a capacity of 10,000, the stadium also has an artificial 3G surface similar to the one which the Three Lions played on in Norway last September.
Situated close to Bern, and sitting atop Lake Thun, the Stockhorn Arena was opened in 2011 and has been a regular home for the Swiss U21 side since then.
And England head there as leaders of their qualifying group, following a 3-1 win against Switzerland in Brighton last November.
A first-half goal from Shani Tarashaj, who signed for Everton from Young Boys in January, put the Swiss ahead at the Amex Stadium, before a penalty from captain James Ward-Prowse brought England level.
Substitute Duncan Watmore then made an instant impact by scoring a second before setting up Chuba Akpom for the third in stoppage time to ensure Southgate’s side ended 2015 in pole position to qualify for next year’s Euro Finals in Poland.
