Arsenal Ladies have signed Fara Williams from FA WSL 1 rivals Liverpool.
Williams, who helped the Reds win back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, is England’s most capped player of all time having clocked up 148 appearances for the Three Lions.
She scored three penalties in Canada as Mark Sampson’s side finished third at last year’s World Cup.
The 31-year-old was recently awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.
Williams won The FA Women's Premier League Cup (2008) and The FA Women's Cup (2010) with Everton.
Arsenal boss Pedro Martinez Losa said: “We are delighted to welcome Fara to the club.
“She is a great competitor and a fantastic character too.
“She is a player with huge experience at club and international level, and her reading and understanding of games is fantastic.
“She is an exciting addition to the squad and I look forward to working with her as we begin preparations for the 2016 season."
