FA WSL 1 champions and SSE Women’s FA Cup holders Chelsea have signed goalkeeper Becky Spencer and midfielder Jade Bailey.
Spencer joined the Blues from Birmingham City while England youth teamer Bailey left London rivals Arsenal.
Chelsea boss Emma Hayes said: “Becky is here to compete with Hedvig Lindahl for the No1 spot.
“She has developed into a top goalkeeper and arrives with Champions League experience and a desire to reach the next level in her career.
“Jade is a player I have known about for some time and for someone who is 20 years of age she has fantastic experience, having started for Arsenal for the past two seasons.
“I want homegrown, English players who want to grow with us.
“Jade will learn around some top players how to take her game forward. But she is up for the challenge and she will compete for a spot in midfield, as well as offer another option in central defence.”
The duo and fellow new signing Karen Carney will be a part of the Chelsea squad for the upcoming FA WSL 1 season which gets under way in March.
Bailey said: “I want to develop my game and the opportunity at Chelsea gives me the chance to do exactly that.
“The set-up at Chelsea Ladies, the club, team and the staff are the ideal fit for me and I am looking forward to getting started.”
