England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has urged grassroots footballers across the country to vote for their local hero in The FA Community People’s Award, presented by McDonald’s.
The final six nominees have been announced after being picked from thousands of incredible grassroots volunteers, all nominated by your votes.
These finalists don’t just volunteer at a local club, they are the life and soul of it, they put their life into bettering the community and the lives of those people within it.
And this is your chance to recognise and reward them for their tireless work, by simply giving them your vote of thanks and the chance to win the 2016 People’s Award.
"The FA and McDonalds Community Awards recognise and reward the heroes of the grassroots game, so it could be a club, a league or a volunteer," revealed Hurst, one of England’s World Cup winning heroes from 1966.
"Without the hundreds of thousands of people and their enthusiasm and continued dedication, grassroots football in so many communities wouldn't be possible.
"So it's an opportunity for people in the community to vote for their special hero and it's open now until 31 July.”
The winner of this year’s People’s Award will be announced at the FA Community Awards Ceremony, taking place at Wembley Stadium before the Community Shield game between Manchester United and Leicester City.
