But the 24-year-old admits he’s feeling fitter and stronger for the tournament, which starts next Friday.
"It's been great to be back in an England shirt and great to be back in the squad," he told FATV after Thursday’s win over Portugal.
"I feel as though when each game has gone I've felt better and sharper and got used to the way we play with England again.
"I feel ready now."
Thursday’s victory was the final match for the Three Lions squad ahead of their opening game with Russia in Marseille next Saturday.
And Wilshere is hoping that he’s done enough in the three friendlies and training camp to earn a spot in the starting line-up.
"I haven't played a lot of football this season but the manager kept faith in me and I'm thankful for that," he admits.
"It's down to me to show him that I'm fit, that I'm still the same player and I'm ready to play for England."
