The Leicester City striker and Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge were introduced at half time by Roy Hodgson with the Three Lions behind to Gareth Bale’s first-half free-kick.
England 2-1 Wales
Euro 2016
Group B

It took just over 10 minutes for Vardy to make an impact as he scored a close-range equaliser before Sturridge netted a stoppage-time goal to seal a deserved victory.
And Vardy always had belief that the win would come against a determined and dogged Wales side.
"We thought we were playing well and the message was simple, just to carry on doing exactly what we were doing and the goals would come and they did,” said Vardy.
"When you come off the bench, you want to make an impact and luckily I did that today.”
The win means England take over at the top of Group B with one game to go, against Slovakia next Monday evening.
And Vardy is hoping that his display in Lens, as well as impressing in training will be enough to secure him a place in the starting line-up in Saint-Etienne.
"I think everyone wants to be part of the starting line-up, but it's a team game and there's 23 of us, so we're all in this together,” he added.
"We'll have to wait and see, but I'll be trying my hardest in training for the next game.”
