Harry Kane has dismissed suggestions that he's feeling the effects of a long season with Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker made 50 appearances for his club in 2015-16, as well as featuring regularly for England.

He went into the campaign having represented his country at the 2015 Under-21 European Championships, but the 22-year-old was quick to quash the idea that he's been overworked.

"I'm not tired," said Kane, who was benched for the Three Lions' group stage-concluding draw with Slovakia on Monday.

"I've had it before - a lot of people spoke last year when I went with the [Under-]21s to the Euros. People said the same thing.

"Look: I'm 100% fresh. I feel sharp, I feel ready so, if called upon, I will going out there and giving 110%."

Kane acknowledged that he and his team-mates need to up their goal-scoring record as they go into the knock-out stages, having only netted three times at Euro 2016 so far.

"We've had a lot of chances that we probably could have done better with but it's part of the game," he affirmed.

"I don't think it's anxiety. [In] not every game the ball's going to fly in the back of the net three or four times. You have to be patient, and I think we've done that well - we have been patient.

“We're doing all we can to put the ball in the back of the net”

"I think we've been the better team in every game we've played, but now we're in the knock-out stages it is about scoring as many goals as we can and hopefully keeping as many clean sheets as well.

"We're doing all we can to put the ball in the back of the net and we've scored a few goals - it isn't like we've scored no goals at all.

"Maybe it's about being a little more clinical in the final third - not just in terms of finishing, but a few crosses and passes could have been better.

"Overall, in the final third we've got to be that little bit better."
