Arsenal marched into the last four of the FA Youth Cup thanks to a second-half winner from the impressive Kaylen Hinds.

Stephy Mavididi gave Arsenal the lead on 51 minutes, but Conor Masterson levelled for Liverpool just three minutes later, before Hinds settled the tie just before the hour mark.

The fixture was a repeat of the 2009 FA Youth Cup final won by Arsenal; in which current Premiership stars Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere both featured for the Gunners.

Arsenal had the first chance of the game after only five minutes – Hinds and Mavididi combined but the latter was left frustrated as Liverpool goalkeeper Shamal George saved.

Ismael Bennacer thought he had given the Gunners a 21st-minute lead but his well-executed free-kick rattled the crossbar.

Arsenal did get their noses in front on 51 minutes – Mavididi was quickest to react as the ball broke in the Liverpool penalty area and the Gunners man poked home.

The lead lasted just three minutes for the home side as Masterson equalised for Liverpool on 54, taking advantage of several deflections before getting the final touch.

And the topsy-turvy encounter took another twist on 58 minutes as Arsenal retook the lead as Hinds ghosted in at the back post to make the score 2-1.

George produced a magnificent save just past the hour mark to keep Liverpool in the game as Mavididi thought he had notched his second of the game, before repeating the trick to deny Chris Willock soon after.

Despite a string of late chances the game remained at 2-1 and Arsenal progressed.

The Gunners will travel to Manchester City on Saturday 9 April with a place in the final at stake.
