England Women have risen to an all-time of fourth in the FIFA rankings.
The Lionesses, who finished third at last year’s World Cup in Canada, have won both of their UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 qualifiers to date – an 8-0 trouncing of Estonia last September and a 1-0 win over Bosnia in November.
They also achieved a notable 0-0 draw with European champions Germany in November, a month after defeating Australia, who are fifth in the rankings, in a friendly tournament in China.

England’s record run at Canada 2015 saw them climb to fifth in the rankings, but they have now overtaken World Cup runners-up Japan, who slip to seventh.
World Cup winners USA still top the rankings, with Germany in second and France third.
Mark Sampson’s side are next in action on Friday 8 April, when they entertain Belgium in a Euro qualifier in Rotherham.
