Chelsea begin their bid to win a fourth successive FA Youth Cup against Cardiff City

Chelsea will begin the defence of the FA Youth Cup at home to Cardiff City.

The third round draw, made on Friday at Wembley, also sees he runners-up in the last two years Manchester City travel to Reading.

Chelsea have won the FA Youth Cup for the last three successive seasons, giving them seven trophies in all.

The competition’s most successful club, Manchester United, will be aiming to win the trophy for the 11th time and begin at home to Southampton.

Norwich City, the last team to win the competition before Chelsea’s recent dominance, travel to Watford.

Arsenal will play at home to Blackburn Rovers, while Tottenham Hotspur meet Stevenage or Charlton Athletic.

Should Metropolitan Police defeat Portsmouth in round two they will host Newcastle United.

Poole Town will travel to Leicester City in round three, provided they can beat Leyton Orient.

Merstham, whose first team reached The Emirates FA Cup first round, will play West Bromwich Albion away if they come out on top in their second round clash with Yeovil Town.

Ties must be played before Saturday 17 December.
