Blackburn Rovers moved three points clear of Middlesbrough at the top of the Women’s Premier League Northern Division table with a 2-1 win on Teeside.
In the only top-flight game to beat the weather, the top two, level on points before kick-off, did battle.
It took 11 minutes for the visitors to make the breakthrough, when Natasha Fenton drove in from 30 yards.

And Blackburn were two goals in front at the interval after thanks to Saffron Jordan.
With eight minutes remaining Bianca Owens gave Middlesbrough a lifeline, slotting in a penalty.
But Rovers held firm to open up a lead at the summit.
