The total prize money on offer for the SSE Women’s FA Cup has been tripled.
Almost £240,000 will be distributed throughout this season’s competition, up from £70,000 last year.

The winning club will receive £25,000, instead of £5,000 as in previous years, and the runners-up will receive £15,000.
The competition gets under way on Sunday with South Shields taking on Gateshead Leam Rangers and Wigan Athletic entertaining MSB Woolton in the first round qualifying.
FA director of football participation and development Kelly Simmons said: “It was the right time to look at prize money and we’ve worked hard to increase this at every level of the competition which will allow clubs to reinvest back into their sides and make the incentive to progress through even higher.”
Two hundred and fifty-four clubs have been accepted into this season’s competition.
FA Women’s Premier League Premier Division sides are exempt until the first round.
FA WSL 2 clubs are exempt until the third round while FA WSL 1 sides will enter at the fifth round stage.
Arsenal defeated Chelsea 1-0 in last season’s Final to win the Cup for the 14th time.
This season’s Final will take place on Saturday 13 May 2017.
