England Under-19s were unfortunate to suffer a 1-0 defeat against Belgium on Sunday afternoon, after their game at the Belgian national football centre in Tubize.
Keith Downing’s side, who drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in Telford last week, started the game well and in what was a tight first half, had a good chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty.

U19 International Match

Belgium Football Centre, Tubize
But unfortunately for the Young Lions, captain Tom Davies missed from the spot by shooting over and shortly after that, Belgium took the lead when Anderlecht striker Jorn Vancamp beat Aaron Ramsdale five minutes before the break with what proved to be the winner.
The second half saw England throw everything at their hosts in search of an equaliser, but they were denied on a number of occasions by Belgian stopper Teunckens.
Downing’s side will be in action again next month, when they face Croatia in Zagreb on 7 October and then return to home soil for a match against Bulgaria in Wycombe on 10 October.
They then face the first Euro Qualifying round in November, which is being hosted by Wales with opposition also coming from Luxembourg and Greece.
