Bianca Baptiste believes Tottenham Hotspur’s players were faultless as they continued their unbeaten start to the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division with a 6-1 win over Lewes.
Baptiste bagged a hat-trick to help make it four wins from four so far this season and remain top of the table.
There were also goals for Kelley Blanchflower, Nikita Whinnett and Wendy Carter as Spurs led 5-0 at the break, with Rebecca Carter only able to provide consolation for Lewes in the second half.

Baptiste said: “All of our strikers grabbed a goal today and I have to be happy with my three to keep us up there and [it will help] if worst comes to worst and it (the title) goes down to goal difference. The more goals the better.
“I think we put in a great performance and we all worked hard to get each other a goal each.
“It was a great performance and the girls did excellently, I couldn’t fault them in any way. We worked hard, we battled and we took the game to them.”

And there was also a hat-trick for Coventry United skipper Natasha Lynch as her side beat Portsmouth 8-1 to move up to third.

There was a 6-2 win for Newcastle United at home to Huddersfield Town, as Shannon Etherington and Sophie Williams both scored twice and Ellen Turnbull and Mollie Lambert also found the net for the Magpies.
