England Under-21s were back together at St. George’s Park on Monday afternoon as they began preparations for games with Germany and Denmark.
Aidy Boothroyd’s squad arrived in Burton in the morning before hitting the training pitch and turning their attention to two away games against nations who will also be competing at this summer’s Euro Finals in Poland.
And there were two new faces in the group as Southampton left-back Sam McQueen and Norwich City forward Jacob Murphy trained with the Young Lions squad for the first time following their first call-ups.
There was also a welcome return to the squad for Joe Gomez and Solly March, who have both been absent through long-term injury and Cauley Woodrow, who is back in the group for the first time since the trip to Toulon last summer, following an impressive run of goals for Burton Albion.
The 23-man squad will be based at the national football centre until Thursday, when they travel to Wiesbaden for Friday’s match with Germany.
From there, the Young Lions will head north into Denmark, where they will take on their hosts in the town of Randers.
Both matches will be shown live on BT Sport.
