Christian Eriksen is desperate to join Tottenham’s pantheon of FA Cup-winning heroes.
The 25-year-old has helped guide Spurs into the semi-finals of this season’s competition, where they will face Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
Tottenham have won The FA Cup eight times, but not since 1991, and Eriksen wants to be a part of the Spurs team that lifts it for the ninth.
He said: “The players, the fans and everyone at the club all want a trophy.
“I want to look back at my CV when I finish playing and see that I won a trophy with Spurs because that’s what the game is all about.
“There’s no party for second place. We want to win things.”
In his second season at White Hart Lane, Eriksen helped Spurs negotiate a path to the last four of the League Cup, where they met Sheffield United.
And the Dane played a massive part in helping them reach the final, scoring both goals in a 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane in the second leg after Spurs had won the first game 1-0.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing in semi-finals as they are such important matches and I’m sure [this one] will be no different,” explained Eriksen.
“I will always remember scoring my first-ever goal for Ajax in a semi-final. That was a special moment for me and, of course, to score twice against Sheffield United was another great memory. When you can help your team reach a final, it’s a great feeling.
“They are great games because you are almost in the final but you just need to take one more step to get there before you can have the possibility to win a trophy.”
